Majority Doesn't Rule: True Size Inclusive Design

Many patterns that claim to be size inclusive don't actual respect how bodies change over a size range. When we work with design professionals on patterns, we must temper our responsibilities with the responsibilities of makers in the partnership of achieving a good fit. To make a true size inclusive pattern, we need to understand: 

  • how clothes work on bodies,
  • ease and how to communicate it to the makers,
  • and how grading may need to change over a full size range.
